Wheelz 2 Work
If you had told Mary a year ago that she would be housed, employed, and have her own transportation, Mary would have reminded you that she was sleeping on a cot in a homeless shelter. However, through the Rapid Re-Housing Program, BCOC's Economic Self-Sufficiency Program, and our Wheelz2Work Program, she accomplished just that and more. When Mary first entered the program she was homeless and working eight hours a week at minimum wage. With the help of her Self-Sufficiency Coach, Mary was able to obtain permanent, affordable housing and a full-time job with a self-sustaining wage. She soon after received a donated car that met her transportation needs. It was not until one year later that Mary reached back out for additional supports; her car was in need of major repairs beyond what she could afford. Mary worked with her coach and came up with a plan, and with the help of some community networking Mary was able to purchase her first car. “Sometimes it’s just the people you know, and the people they know that get you to where you need to go.” Mary is beyond grateful for all the help that she has received and cannot wait to be a graduate at BCOC's Economic Self Sufficiency celebration this October.
The lack of safe and reliable transportation limits access to jobs and educational opportunities. The Bucks County Oppportunity Council, in partnership with Bucks County Community College and the Gene and Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund, is currently seeking both good, used automobiles and financial support to help those in need of reliable and safe transportation.
Get the highest possible tax donation because donated vehicles are given to families in need. Your donation will change lives!
NOW- $500 cash incentive for donations!
Gene and Marlene Epstein will give $500 to the next 5 individuals or car dealers who donate to the program!
We will provide you with contact information to one of our approved mechanics in Bucks County so that you can schedule an appointment to assess the condition of your car. Our mechanics will assess your car and give us a report based on which we will be able to determine whether or not we can accept your donation. If we accept your donation, we will arrange a convenient time to meet you at one of our Auto Tag partners to have the title transferred. At that time, please bring the title of your vehicle, driver’s license, check if you are paying for the transfer and social security number.
Upon completion of your donation, you will receive documentation regarding the Fair Market Value of your car based on the Kelley Blue Book. You will net the highest tax deduction possible while avoiding the hassle of trading in or selling your used car. Donors may claim the highest deduction possible of the vehicle's fair market value because BCOC will donate the car to a deserving individual furthering the charitable purpose of helping a person in need of a means of transportation per IRS guidelines.
Many thanks to the auto repair companies who provide their services for Wheelz2Work:
