Bucks County Opportunity Council, Inc. is a non-profit Community Action Agency established in 1965. Our mission is to help low-income people in Bucks County achieve and maintain economic self-sufficiency. We provide a broad range of self-sufficiency, emergency and preventative, free tax preparation, financial literacy and asset development, food assistance and weatherization services. Our services are based on the principle that empowering people with the education, training, resources and skills necessary to permanently leave poverty is far more beneficial than helping them cope in poverty.

200 Reasons to Celebrate!
Join us on September 29, 2010 at Spring Mill Manor for the 14th annual Economic Self-Sufficiency Graduation to celebrating the success of this year's class of hard-working, motivated Economic Self-Sufficiency Program graduates, as well as the 200th graduate since the program was established in 1997. All graduates were recieving or eligible for subsidies when they enrolled in the program and now have the family-sustaining wage employment, education and resources to remain permanently out of poverty.
