BCOC volunteers are a driving force for our organization. Whether you want to volunteer for a special project or event, or help out on a regular basis, we value your time and experience. 


Bucks County Opportunity Council Volunteer Clearance Policy

Volunteers must obtain the following clearances in order to be an ongoing volunter for BCOC (one-time volunteers are exempt from clearance requiremenrs at Fresh Connect and the Hope of the Harvest Charitable Garden):

  • Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); and
  • Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse).

Additionally, a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required if you have lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.

Volunteers who have been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years must swear or affirm in writing that they are not disqualified from service based upon a conviction of an offense under §6344.

Food Program


Fresh Connect Bucks County: 

Volunteers are needed to help set up and distribute produce at our weekly, year-round mobile farmer's markets in Bristol and Ottsville. Each weekly location requires 10-15 volunteers, whose involvement is an integral part of the distribution.

Food Distribution: 

Volunteers needed to assist with food deliveries at our cold storage, and delivering food boxes to eligible seniors in Doylestown and Perkasie. Volunteers must be able to life boxes of 30 lbs, repetitive lifting. Each opportunity is 1 -2 hours at a time! VIEW OPENINGS HERE. 



Food Program Drivers: 

Volunteers are needed to pick up food donations every weekday. Volunteers drive our food program van from our Doylestown office, picking up and delivering to food pantries in Bucks County. You don't have to commit to every day, but can be on-call as needed drivers to support our food delivery network. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ride along one of our drivers any weekday to see what it takes! Contact Eileen at ealbillar@bcoc.org to schedule a ride along and help us feed our community!

Hope of the Harvest Charitable Garden

That's a wrap- our 2017 season has ended, but we hope you can join us next year! 


BCOC provides assistance to hundreds of Bucks County families during the holiday season. Volunteers are sought to assist our case staff at three locations in central and upper Bucks County between November 27 and December 20.  Assistance is provided on a walk-in basis, no appointments are necessary. Volunteers will assist with greeting clients, assisting them with completing required forms, and copying documents as needed.  Volunteers must complete a BCOC application and have required clearances.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) 

BCOC provides free tax preparation for low-income families. We can use your help as a volunteer tax preparer! Visit our VITA volunteer page to learn more. No experience necessary! Click here to learn more.

Administrative and Clerical Volunteer Positions

Volunteer for one day a week or one day a month at our Doylestown Borough office. Filing, data entry, mail merge, shredding- helping with these tasks frees up valuable time for staff.
