BCOC volunteers are a driving force for our organization. Whether you want to volunteer for a special project or event, or help out on a regular basis, we value your time and experience. We are currently accepting applications for volunteers.
Bucks County Opportunity Council Volunteer Clearance Policy
Prospective volunteers must obtain the following clearances in order to be an ongoing volunter for BCOC:
- Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); and
- Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse).
Additionally, a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required if:
- The volunteer has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.
Volunteers who have been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years must swear or affirm in writing that they are not disqualified from service based upon a conviction of an offense under §6344.
Volunteers are needed to pick up food donations every weekday. Volunteers drive our food program van from our Doylestown office, picking up and delivering to food pantries in Bucks County. You don't have to commit to every day, but can be on-call as needed drivers to support our food delivery network. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ride along one of our drivers any weekday to see what it takes! Contact Eileen at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a ride along and help us feed our community!
Senior Food Box Distribution- 1.5 hours per month:
Volunteers needed to assist with delivering food boxes to eligible Seniors in Bucks County! Volunteer will assist with delivering food boxes to seniors at Grundy Hall. Boxes are 30 lbs, repetitive lifting of boxes is required. Ideally a team of 2 - 4 people, who can meet the driver at Grundy Hall in Doylestown, unload the boxes, and assist with distribution inside the hall. Contacting seniors to have them come down to pick up their box, or delivering to their apartments. Approximately 8:30 - 10:00 am.

BCOC provides free tax preparation for low-income families. We can use your help as a volunteer tax preparer! Visit our VITA volunteer page to learn more.
No experience necessary! Click here to learn more. Classrooom training will be on January 14, 21 and 28, 2017, between 9 am - 3 pm, on the campus of Delaware Valley University.
Administrative and Clerical Volunteer Positions Open
Volunteer for one day a week or one day a month at our Doylestown Borough office. Filing, data entry, mail merge, shredding- helping with these tasks frees up valuable time for staff.
Hope of the Harvest Charitable Garden
BCOC manages the volunteers for the Hope of the Havest Charitable Garden. We'll be starting back up in May, 2017- Hope to see you next summer!
