Important Information for those who have or are seeking an appointment to have your taxes prepared by Buck$Back:
Due to the severe weather we've had, as well as the elimination of walk-in sites by the IRS, our Buck$Back free tax preparation program has been inundated with requets for tax appointments.
To request an appointment, call 215-345-8175, extension 221. Leave a clear message that includes your name, phone number, and the site closest to you to have your taxes prepared (Perkasie, Warminster or Levittown).
Please Note: It may take up to a week for your call to be returned to schedule your tax appointment. We appreciate your patience.
For appointments at the Levittown location, all tax appointments effective February 26, 2014 are drop-off only. You will complete an interview with a volunteer tax preparer, leave your tax documents, and be contacted when your documents are ready, usually 1 - 2 weeks. Same-day service is NOT available in Levittown for the rest of this tax season.
Volunteer Tax Preparers have been trained at basic and advanced levels for a number of tax situations; However, some tax situations may be outside of the scope of our services.
Do you enjoy preparing taxes for friends and family members? Are you a retired tax professional with some free time on your hands? Are you a college student looking to get some real-life experience and beef up your resume?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider volunteering with Buck$Back, the free income tax preparation service provided by the Bucks County Opportunity Council in partnership with the IRS and supported by the Bucks County Foundation.
Buck$Back is a community-based Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program providing free tax return preparation for people who need tax assistance but can’t afford it. People with low-to-moderate incomes, seniors, people with disabilities and those with limited English skills usually qualify for this free service.
Since its beginning in 2004, Buck$Back volunteers have prepared more than 7,000 tax returns and generated refunds, credits and preparation fee savings totaling $12.5 million for low and moderate income working families. Each year, volunteers help hundreds of taxpayers improve their financial situation. Incredibly, the program returns more than $32 to taxpayers in our community for every $1 invested.
Volunteers are needed to be Greeters, Tax Preparers, Quality Reviewers, and Schedulers.
All tax preparation volunteers receive online and classroom training to prepare a limited scope of tax returns. To find out more about volunteering and how to complete the training process, click on the Volunteer FAQs.
