INTERNSHIP: 
Kid’s Lunch Box Coordinator 

The Bucks County Opportunity Council is seeking an energetic, responsible, creative individual to join our non-profit organization for the summer. The Opportunity Council’s food program supports a network of over 60 providers focused on meeting the food and nutrition needs of low-income households. In addition, the Opportunity Council’s food program operates a free mobile farmers’ market, Fresh Connect, in three locations. This summer internship will focus on planning, organizing, and distributing children’s lunch boxes to Fresh Connect clients.  You will be given exposure to the ins and outs of non-profit organizations as well as the ability to see a project through from start to finish. The internship will start on or around June 10th with the intern reporting around 10-15 hours a week. A stipend will be provided upon completion of internship.  Job Responsibilities:

-          Coordinate efforts to distribute kid’s lunch boxes at Fresh Connects weekly distributions

-          Assist Food Program Coordinator with project development, promotion and general program needs of Fresh Connect

-          Development, collection, and analysis of data for the kid’s lunch boxes/Fresh Connect

 Minimum Position Requirements:

-          Flexible schedule with morning to mid-afternoon hours Monday to Friday

-          At least 18 years of age at start of internship

-          Reliable form of transportation with willingness to travel within Bucks County

-          Demonstrating experiences with word, excel, internet explorer, and google

-          Written and verbal communication skills

-          Ability to lift 30 pounds

-          Can use opportunity to fulfil high school/college requirements for real world job experiences

 

Fresh Connect Bucks County is a free farmers’ market bringing fresh, healthy food to our hungry neighbors in Bucks County. It returns to the same location on the same day at the same time each week, providing reliable and needed food to the 57,000 Bucks County residents facing hunger, 32% of whom are children.
